Jaws Of Life Used – One Airlifted To Hospital

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On January 22, 2015 at 7:00am members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment responded to call for a head-on collision on Little Britain Road west of Eldon Road.

Officers arrived on the scene and closed the road. City of Kawartha Lakes Fire Service arrived on the scene and used the “jaws of live” to extricate the lone female driver of one of the vehicles. That driver was airlifted to a Toronto area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The lone male driver of the second vehicle was transported by ambulance to the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay with non-life threatening injuries.

At the time of this release (9:30am) the OPP remain on the scene investigating and Little Britain Road remains closed but is expected to open shortly. No charges have been laid at this time and the investigation is continuing.
