(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment have charged a 31-year-old male after police stopped a vehicle at a Norfolk Street South, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.
On Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at approximately 2:13 a.m., officers were patrolling Norfolk Street South and were operating an Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) vehicle, which detects licence plates in poor standing.
As the officers were travelling northbound, the ALPR vehicle alerted the officer to a licence plate on a vehicle travelling southbound on Norfolk Street South. The vehicle was subsequently stopped and investigated.
As a result, police have charged 31-year-old Jason VAN PAASSEN of Norfolk County, Ontario with driving while under suspension.
He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charge.
