(CHATHAM, ON) On January 3, 2017 at approximately 12:15 a.m., a member of the Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for not displaying a rear licence plate.
While conducting their investigation, police discovered and seized a small quantity of crystal methamphetamine, hydromorphone contin, cannabis marihuana and open alcohol.
As a result, the male driver, Jason CURRIE, 32-years-old of Chatham has been charged with the following offences:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Other Drug (Methamphetamine, Hydromorphone Contin) X 2, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act
Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act
Adult driving while under suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Adult operate motor vehicle without insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
Adult use plate not authorized for vehicle
Adult driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on February 16, 2017 in Chatham, ON.
