(COLLINGWOOD, ON.) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a motorist with various offences after receiving a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver in Collingwood.
On July 24 2016 shortly before 3:00am, officers received information on a possible impaired driver where it was reported that a car was observed going off the roadway and return onto the street, last seen travelling on First Street in Collingwood. Officers patrolled the area and conducted a vehicle stop on a car matching the description given by the caller where a female driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. She was subjected to a roadside breath test which resulted in a ‘fail’ reading and led to her arrest and transport to Collingwood detachment for processing.
Charged is 45 year-old Janet GEBERDT of Meaford, she is facing charges of driving a motor vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol, driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, mischief under $5000 and 3 counts of failing to comply with recognizance. She was held for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.
