(Bancroft, Ontario) – On Monday the 19th of January 2015, officers from the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of an assault at a residence on Chemaushgon Road in the Town of Bancroft. Investigation into the incident revealed that an adult male had been physically assaulted by another male. The male suspect left the residence in an unknown direction of travel prior to police attending. Personal items were reported stolen from the residence.
As a result of the investigation, 26 year old James LASKEY (MITCHELL) of Bancroft Ontario was arrested and has been charged with:
Robbery using a firearm
Break and enter
Possession of a schedule 1 drug
Carrying a concealed weapon
Pointing a firearm
Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing and his next scheduled court appearance is February 03rd 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, Ontario.
