Jacob Klassen GUENTHER – Flight From Police, etc

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County detachment has charged a 30-year-old male after police attempted to stop a motor vehicle at a Norfolk County Road 21, North Walsingham, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Thursday, January 19, 2017 at approximately 12:07 p.m., police were conducting patrols in the area of Norfolk County Road 21 when a vehicle attracted the officer’s attention. The officer activated their emergency equipment in an effort to stop the vehicle however the driver failed to stop.

Officers subsequently located the vehicle and driver a short time later at a Fairground Road address where he was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following offences is 30-year-old Jacob Klassen GUENTHER of Norfolk County, Ontario.

Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

Flight while pursued by Peace Officer

Race a motor vehicle –excessive speed

Driving while under suspension

Fail to comply with probation order

Operate unsafe motor vehicle

He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.

“There will be zero tolerance for motorists driving aggressively, impaired by drugs or alcohol, distracted drivers or those who fail to buckle up. Driving safety is everyone’s responsibility and it starts before the vehicle is put into drive” comments Staff Sergeant Joe Varga, Operations Manager, Norfolk County OPP.
