Jacob KLASSEN 148 in an 80

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment have charged a 24 year old male with stunt driving after police stopped a motor vehicle at a Highway 24, Windham, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Sunday, January 18, 2015 at approximately 6:52 p.m., police observed a motor vehicle that appeared to be travelling at a high rate of speed southbound on Highway 24.

The motor vehicle ran through radar and recorded a reading of 148km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

Police have charged 24 year old Jacob KLASSEN of Norfolk County, Ontario with Stunt Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

“There will be zero tolerance for motorists driving aggressively, impaired by drugs or alcohol, distracted drivers or those who fail to buckle up. Driving safety is everyone’s responsibility and it starts before the vehicle is put into drive” comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.

OPP are reminding all motorists that the minimum fine for Stunt Driving, if convicted is $2,000 and an automatic drivers licence suspension for 7 days.

He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charge.
