(HOWICK, ON) – This morning just after 11:30 a.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers along with paramedics from Huron County EMS responded to a pig farm operation located on McIntosh Line east of Gorrie. A worker at the farm was found unresponsive in a manure pit by another co-worker.
The male was declared deceased at the scene by emergency personnel.
Huron OPP officers along with the assistance of OPP Identification Services (IDENT) continue to investigate. The Ontario Ministry of Labour has been notified.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled for November 26, 2013 at London Health Sciences Centre.
The deceased has been identified as Jack SCHWEHR, age 60, from Howick Township.
