(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON.) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau Drug Enforcement Unit along with assistance of a North East Region Canine Unit and members of the Ontario Provincial Police Kirkland Lake detachment have charged a man and woman with drug offences. The charges stem from the investigation of illegal drug related activities in the Kirkland Lake area. It culminated with the execution of a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Main Street in Kirkland Lake.
Seized as a result of the search were methamphetamine pills, marihuana, money and drug paraphernalia. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $12,000. The incident occurred at approximately 7:40 a.m. on December 19, 2013.
Charged is Alan FORBES age 38 of Kirkland Lake with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
Also charged is Annanda Darlene GILL age 35 of Temiskaming Shores, Ontario with Possession of a Controlled Substance. She is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on February 13, 2013.
