(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A recent investigation conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) at a local store has resulted in charges being laid.
The City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP initiated an investigation into allegations of an internal theft at the Canadian Tire store in Fenelon Falls. On December 26, 2013, as a result of the investigation, the store manager, Darren STEWART, 28 years of age, of Fenelon Falls, was arrested and charged with two counts of theft, under $5 000 and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, contrary to the Criminal Code.
The investigation is ongoing and there is a potential for more charges to follow.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on February 6, 2014.
