Investigation completed into fatal collision on River Road last September

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service Collision Investigations Unit completed its investigation into the September 6, 2014 fatal collision involving a 40 year old female cyclist and a dump truck driven by a 29 year old male at the 2600 block of River Road.

The collision occurred on the route for the Ride the Rideau Event hosted by the Ottawa Hospital Foundation.

Collision investigators have closed the file and no charge will be laid in this matter.

The death will continue to be investigated by the office of Dr. Louise McNaughton-Filion, the Regional Supervising Coroner of Eastern Region. The coroner’s findings are used to generate recommendations to help improve public safety and prevent deaths in similar circumstances.
