(PARRY SOUND, ON)- On August 11, 2013 at 8:31pm the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a Seguin area residence regarding an unwanted intoxicated person causing a disturbance.
Upon arrival, OPP officers were requested to remove from the homeowner’s residence an intoxicated 47 year-old male who was refusing to leave.
The officers approached the individual in question. The suspect became verbally abusive and while in the process of being arrested resisted which resulted in his being injured. The OPP arranged for the suspect to be transported to the West Parry Sound Health Centre for treatment.
As a result of the injuries sustained during his arrest, the OPP notified the Province’s Special Investigation unit (SIU) who has invoked its mandate. As such the OPP will be unable to provide further information. Further inquiries should be directed to the SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
The West Parry Sound OPP is continuing their investigation into the incident.
