(Essa Township, ON) Between the 16th and 20th of September 2014, Essa Township will be hosting the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo at 4715 on the 20th Sideroad in Ivy, Ontario.
This event is expected to bring approximately 100,000 people in attendance, to enjoy the festivities. Members of the OPP will be in attendance to ensure safety of those attending, and assist with any traffic related issues.
The OPP museum in partnership with the Nottawasaga OPP will have an exhibit to visit while there, stocked with information and activities for children. Also on site will be an OPP ATV to checkout, while kids can challenge themselves to an official OPP inspection by OPP uniform officers.
During this event, the Nottawasaga OPP are reminding the public of the temporary Essa Township by-law that restricts parking on the 20th Sideroad between the 10th and 11th Line of Essa Township. Further focus on awareness that there will be many pedestrians in the area of rural roadways, and to be vigilant when driving on them. All members of the public should be aware of their personal safety, and that of children, at all times. Children should not be left unattended anywhere, for any length of time, when out in public.
