Incident #: WA14002625
Incident Date: Jan 4, 2014
Location: OTTAWA ST S, KITCHENER, ON Canada
On Saturday January 4, 2014 at 8:14pm the Waterloo Regional Police Service received a call to respond to McLennan Park in regards to two people who had been injured tobogganing on the hill. The park is located at 901 Ottawa Street South in Kitchener. Police arrived at the above location at approximately 8:25pm along with EMS and KFD. The two women in their early twenties ignored the signs posted noting the hill was closed due to poor sledding conditions. They went to the top of the hill and using crazy carpets proceeded to make their way down the hill at a high rate of speed. The young females were unable to stop prior to making contact with a small metal fence at the entrance of the hill. Both were transported to Grand River Hospital where they received medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
