Infant Abandoned In Vehicle Overnight – 29 Year Old Charged

(South Dundas) – On November 7, 2016 at approximately 6:35am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of an infant abandoned in a vehicle at a property on County Road 4 (Lakeshore Drive), South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that the infant male had been left in a vehicle for several hours overnight (November 6-7, 2016). No injuries resulted.

As a result of the ongoing investigation by SD&G OPP Crime Unit, a 29-year-old female from Morrisburg, Ontario was arrested on November 14, 2016 and is charged with;

– Abandoning a Child

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on December 6, 2016. Her name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
