(HALIBURTON, ON) – On January 26, 2014 at 12:30 am officers from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a snowmobile
at the Pinestone Resort in the Municipality of Dysart et al Ontario. The driver of the 2008 Skidoo was arrested for Impaired Driving and transported to the OPP detachment where he provided a sample of his breath. Tyeler HELSEL age 28 of Keswick, Ontario was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams, Impaired Driving and his driver’s licence was suspended for a period of 90 days. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden Ontario on March 05, 2014.
The OPP would like to remind motorized snow vehicle operators that the rules to drinking & driving for an automobile are similar in nature and also apply to snowmobile operation.
