In the early hours of Nov 30th, members of the Barrie Police received numerous complaints about a vehicle driving erratically in the downtown core. Police subsequently located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. As a result, the driver was arrested for Impaired Operation. During the arrest process, the driver became combative and assaulted one of the officers. The male was eventually subdued and placed into handcuffs. The investigation revealed open alcohol inside the vehicle, as well as a small quantity of suspected marijuana. The accused was transported to the Barrie Police and lodged in custody.
One of the arresting officers suffered minor injuries in this incident.
