Occurrence #: BA14062041
Date: Saturday, December 27, 2014 – 12:43pm
Numerous 911 calls came into the Communications Unit around 12:40pm. Callers reported that a vehicle had smashed through a fence on Scott Crescent and when approached by the homeowner, the driver of the vehicle sped away from the scene.
A short time later, a caller reported a similar vehicle striking a tree and pole on Edgehill Drive and then leaving that scene. The vehicle then went off then road on Edgehill and nearly struck a pedestrian. At that point it was followed by a citizen who reported that it struck a home on Pringle Crescent. No one was injured during these collisions.
When police arrived, the driver was still sitting in the vehicle and attempted to run into his house. After a brief scuffle with police, a 29 year old Barrie male was arrested for Impaired Driving, Dangerous Driving, Failing to Remain at the scene of a collision and Assault with intent to resist arrest.
He was taken to the station where he provided samplers of his breath that more than doubled the legal limit. The male is now before the court to answer to these charges.
