(TOWNSHIP OF NEW TECUMSETH) – On Sunday, February 21, 2017, at approximately 8:59 p.m., members of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), conducted a traffic stop with an e-bike on 8th Avenue, Town of New Tecumseth.
The e-bike was travelling southbound on 8th Avenue with no front light on. When the officer approached the driver, he immediately smelled a strong odour of alcohol. Further investigation revealed that the driver had consumed a quantity of alcohol and therefore was arrested and transported to the Nottawasaga Detachment where breath samples were obtained.
Charged with Care and Control of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada is 47 year old Michelle STRINGER of Alliston. She was released on a Promise to Appear before an Ontario Court of Justice, with a future court date.
