(ATIKOKAN, ON) On March 3, 2014 at 3:22 pm members of the Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint for a possible impaired driving. After locating the vehicle in question and conducting an investigation, a 53 year old male named Brian Hanson of Atikokan was charged criminally with one count of having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood; and one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He is due in Atikokan Provincial Court on April 24, 2014 to answer to these charges.
Shortly after Midnight on March15, 2014, members of the Rainy River District Detachment were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle and a moose on Highway 11 near Windigoostigwan Lake. After an investigation at the scene, a 43 year old male from Thunder Bay named Allen Dunning was charged criminally with one count of having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood; and one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with driving while under suspension. He will appear in Atikokan Provincial Court on April 24, 2014 to answer to these charges.
On April 1, 2014 at 3:28 am, members of the Rainy River District OPP were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Hwy 11 in the area of Perch Lake. As a result of an investigation, a 20 year old Atikokan male named Marcus Coulson has been charged criminally with one count of having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood; and one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He has also been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with driving while under suspension. He will appear in Atikokan Provincial Court on April 24, 2014 to answer to these charges.
On April 6, 2014 at 10:15 pm members of the Rainy Rivers District Detachment conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Mackenzie Avenue in Atikokan. As a results of an investigation, a 44 year old male of Atikokan named Corey GUMIENY has been charged criminally with one Count of Impaired operation of a motor vehicle and one count of Refusing to provide a breath sample. He will be appearing in Atikokan Provincial Court on May 29, 2014 to answer to these charges.
