(Marmora, ON) – On December 30, 2013 at 7:45 p.m. Central Hastings O.P.P received a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver on Highway #7 in the Municipality of Marmora and Lake. At 8:00 p.m. an officer located the involved vehicle travelling northbound on Forsyth Street and the driver was observed talking on a cellular telephone. A traffic stop revealed the male driver had been consuming alcohol and he subsequently registered a fail on the roadside screening device.
As a result, 60 year old Rafael BERNEL of Marmora, ON was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired, Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood, Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor and Drive Motor Vehicle on a Highway While Using a Hand-Held Communication Device. He will appear in Ontario Court of Justice, Belleville on February 14, 2014.
(Tweed, ON) – On January 1, 2014 members of the O.P.P Highway Safety Division conducted a R.I.D.E Program on Victoria Street in the Municipality of Tweed. At 9:55 a.m. a male driver of a northbound vehicle entered the R.I.D.E Program where he was found to have been consuming alcohol. After registering a fail on the roadside screening device, 21 year old Joseph BAUMHOUR of Madoc, ON was arrested and charged with Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood. He will appear in Ontario Court of Justice, Belleville on January 16, 2014.
