Impaired Drivers Busted Over The Weekend

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) of the City of Kawartha Lakes (CKL) arrested three separate drivers for alcohol related offences over the weekend while conducting traffic enforcement.

On August 15, 2015 at approximately 8:30 pm, Bradley STEVENSON, 24 years of age, of the City of Kawartha Lakes, was stopped while operating a motor vehicle. He was arrested and charged with:

Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)

Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CCC

Driving while Under Suspension contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

Permit Use of a Plate not Authorized for Vehicle contrary to section 12(1)(d) of the HTA

Speeding 1 – 49 km/h over the Posted Limit contrary to section 128 of the HTA

Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA)

Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act

The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on September 10, 2015.

On August 16, 2015 just after midnight, Bonnie JAMES, 63 years of age, of Lindsay, was stopped as a result of a driving complaint. After an investigation she was arrested and charged with:

Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the CCC

Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CCC

The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on September 17, 2015.

On August 16, 2015 at approximately 2:00 am, Phillip HOWE, 33 years of age, of Georgina, was arrested as a result of a driving complaint. After an investigation he was arrested and charged with:

Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the CCC

Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the CCC

The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on September 17, 2015.
