Three arrests in the past week for drinking and driving related offences has the OPP in Renfrew concerned. Drivers are reminded that impaired driving remains the leading criminal cause of deaths in our Country and the penalties for impaired driving can be expensive and cause severe hardship. When you live in the country where public forms of transportation are limited most people depend on their ability to drive to attend work and make a living. Having a driver’s licence is a privilege not a right. This privilege should be respected and appreciated. Don’t take your driver’s licence for granted. If you depend on it, then respect the rules and laws that go along with it, which includes keeping the alcohol content in your blood system below the legal limit.
