Impaired Driver Stopped in Goderich

(Goderich, ON) On May 17, 2009 at approximately 1:00 am, a vehicle was observed being driven erratically on Bayfield Road in Goderich. A Huron OPP officer initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the driver. Immediately, the officer observed the classic signs of impairment coming from the driver and he was arrested for Impaired Driving. The man was taken back to the Huron Detachment where he met with a qualified Breathalyzer Technician and provided two samples of his breath. The readings confirmed that the driver was driving with over 3 ½ times above the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol in his system.

As a result of the investigation, Randy Pollock (31) of Goderich has been charged with one count of Impaired Driving and one count of Drive with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He will answer to his charges in Goderich Court on July 6, 2009. In the meantime, his driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days. LP09117293
