On Monday, February 15, 2016 at 5:30 p.m., a 63-year-old Cambridge man was driving his car southbound on Water Street North, in the city of Cambridge, when he went through the intersection at Main Street on a red light, and was struck by a pick-up truck. The car then drove onto the sidewalk on Main Street for 88 meters, hit buildings, a bench, a bike rack, two trees, nearly hit a pedestrian, then onto the roadway hitting five parked cars. The man was subsequently arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and impaired driving. It is extensive damage to the buildings on Main Street and some of the struck vehicles are demolished. There were no injuries to any persons involved in this incident.
