(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On August 3, 2015 members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were flagged down by a motorist and advised that a vehicle had collided with a tree on Great North Road in Parry Sound. Investigation revealed that at approximately 5:51 p.m. a vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree. It then reversed back onto the road and continued only to leave the road a second time breaking the “Watch for Children” sign and then getting stuck.
The driver, Krzysztof NOGAS, 54 years of age from Etobicoke was arrested and charged with:
· Driving while Ability Impaired – motor vehicle contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
· Care or Control over 80 milligrams (mgs).
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on August 20, 2015 to answer to his charges.
The OPP is reminding motorists that there is no safe amount of alcohol consumption when driving. Anyone who suspects a driver is driving while impaired is urged to call police by dialing 9-1-1 immediately.
