(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On July 31, 2016 at approximately 11:27 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received complaints with respect to a possible impaired driver operating a Ford van northbound on Hwy. 6 in the Township of Chatsworth. The vehicle was said to be travelling at erratic speeds and swerving all over the road, nearly colliding with two vehicles.
Police stopped the suspect vehicle on Hwy. 6 at Moto Park Rd. in the Township of Chatsworth and found that the driver was impaired by a drug(s). The 47-year old Township of Southgate man was arrested and taken to the Chatsworth OPP Detachment where he was evaluated by a qualified Drug Recognition Evaluator. Due to the driver’s level of impairment and concern for his well-being, he was transported to hospital.
