(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On March 27, 2014 the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was contacted when a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner left the Peterborough area driving along Highway 7.
The vehicle came to a stop in a driveway along Highway 7 in the former Emily Township. The driver was transported to Ross Memorial Hospital but as officers conducted the investigation it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.
As a result of the investigation Michael MALKIEWICZ, 27 years of age, was charged with care or control of a motor vehicle while impaired and with care or control of a motor vehicle while having more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on April17, 2014.
