On Saturday evening the Barrie Police Service received a report of a car striking a pole on Big Bay Point Road east of Yonge Street. The called further indicated that this car had left the scene and continued eastbound. The caller observed the car enter the LCBO on Big Bay Point Road. Officers located the vehicle and discovered that the driver had been drinking. A 63 year old Barrie male was taken to the station where he failed two breath tests at approximately twice the legal limit. He was charged accordingly with drinking related offences. Luckily there were no injuries and damage was minimal.
