(NOTTAWASAGA, ON)- The Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were busy over the weekend with many calls for service.
There were three arrests for impaired driving; in the first instance on January 17, 2014 at 11:22pm, Officers received a traffic complaint which led them to investigate a driver who was later charged with impaired driving. Police stopped the vehicle Ford F-150 on County Road 10 in Essa Township. Charged is 49-year-old Eric LAMPE, he is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80 mgs, Criminal Code of Canada. His truck was towed and impounded and his licence was suspended for a 90 day period. He will appear in court on February 20, 2014 in Bradford at the Ontario Court of Justice.
In the second incident, Police stopped a vehicle on Victoria Street East in the Town of New Tecumseth on January 17 at 12:41am, the 52 year-old driver was investigated for impaired driving. Charged is Latchford, Ontario resident Ronald WAY, he is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80 mgs, Criminal Code of Canada. He has a first appearance court date of February 6th, 2014 in Bradford, Ontario.
In the third incident, Police were conducting proactive patrols of Beeton and stopped a vehicle on Main Street on January 18, 2014 at 6:34pm. Charged is 52-year-old Jan CHOWANIEC of the Town of New Tecumseth. He is charged with over 80 mgs and will also appear in court on the 20th of February in Bradford.
