Impaired Care and Control

On the 28th of December 2013, at approximately 3:30am police recieved a call to a northend street regarding a female who had spun her vehicle out and was stuck in a snow bank. Police attended and could smell an odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath as they investigated the minor motor vehicle collision.

The female driver was arrested and transported to the station where she provided samples of her breath. After providing the breath samples it was revealed the female was twice the legal limit to operate a motor vehicle.

She was held in cells until sober. Upon release the female recieved a court date for mid-january, an automatic 90 day suspension and a notice indicating her vehicle was impounded for 7 days. The female driver could face an additional year without her licence.
