Impaired Care and Control

On the 13th of April 2014 at approximately 11pm, a male was driving south on Anne Street towards Cundles Road. As the driver approached the intersection and attempted a right hand turn on to Cundles he was struck from behind by another vehicle travelling south on Anne Street.

Police were called to investigate the accident. As they investigated and were speaking with the drivers, the officers could smell an odour of an alcoholic beverage on the male drivers breath who had caused the accident. The driver also displayed other characteristics of being impaired.

Officers subsequently arrested the male where he was taken to the station in order to supply a sample of his breath. It was discovered that the driver was two times the legal limit. The30 year old Barrie male was charged with Impaired care and control and over 80mgs. He will be attending court at the end of April in regards to the charges.
