Impaired Boater Charged In Vessel Collision

(GEORGIAN BAY TOWNSHIP, ON) Members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP have completed the investigation into the vessel collision that occurred on May 23, 2015 on the waters of Georgian Bay Honey Harbour.

The investigation has concluded that Bronson TAYLOR was operating a vessel while impaired when the collision occurred. Following the vessel collision, he drove away from the scene which resulted in the charges entered in the initial Media Release.

As a result of the vessel collision investigation, the following further charges have been laid:

– Impaired Operation of a vessel sec 253(1)(a) contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– Impaired Operation of a Vessel Cause Bodily Harm sec 255(2) contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– Fail to Stop sec 252 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

– Assault sec 266 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland on June 4, 2015.
