(MACDONALD, MEREDITH & ABERDEEN ADDITIONAL TOWNSHIP, ON)On July 1, 2015 members of the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marine Unit were conducting safety compliance checks of small vessels on Lake
George.
As a result of one of those compliance checks and further investigation Peter BOWERS, 52 years, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following:
· One count of Operate a Vessel with Over 80 mgs. of Alcohol as per the Criminal Code of Canada
· One count of Fail to Produce Pleasure Operator Card as per the Small Vessels Act of the Canada Shipping Act
· One count of Consuming Liquor in Other Than Licensed Premises, Residence or Private Place as per the Liquor License Act.
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sault Ste. Marie on August 10, 2015.
