(KENORA, ON) -On Tuesday December 17, 2013 at around 2:00 pm members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped the driver of a Manitoba Dodge Caravan for speeding on Highway 17 West of Kenora. While dealing with the driver of the vehicle, police determined that he was transporting a quantity of unmarked cigarettes. A search of the vehicle located a total of 107 cartons of unmarked cigarettes. The tobacco is estimated to have a value of $10,200.
The 40 year old man from Winnipeg has been charged with Possession of Unmarked Cigarettes and Possession of Unmarked Cigarettes for the Purpose of Sale contrary to the Tobacco Taxes Act. He is to appear in Kenora Court on March 6, 2014 to answer to the charges.
