(COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have now arrested and charged a male in relation to the mischief to an ice sculpture in downtown Collingwood.
The mischief to the ice sculpture, located in the area of Pine Street and Second Street, took place overnight from the 31st of December 2013 to the 1st of January 2014. Video surveillance from the area was obtained where a suspect is observed kicking the sculpture repeatedly until it falls over causing it to shatter.
As a result of the investigation and information from the public, police have now arrested and charged a male responsible for the mischief.
Charged is 20 year-old Matias HUYCKE of Collingwood, he is facing a charge of mischief under $5000 and is to appear in Collingwood court on the 11th of February 2014.
