(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – An investigation recently conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in an Omemee man being charged with personating a peace officer.
On January 6, 2015 the OPP was contacted by a landlord in regards to some concerns that had arisen related to a tenant. Investigation revealed that the tenant had provided false information to the landlord in relation to his being hired by the OPP.
As a result of the investigation Ian WILSON, 45 years of age, was charged with the Criminal Code offence of personating a peace officer and will appear in court, in Lindsay, on February 19, 2015.
