(CALEDON, ON) – On July 22, 2016 at approximately 12:30 pm, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate a serious collision on Highway 9, involving an SUV and a dump truck.
The road was closed for several hours between Airport Road and Glen Haffy Road while the OPP’s Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) attended the scene to provide assistance with the investigation.
The SUV was travelling westbound on Highway 9 and crossed the centre lane and collided with the dump truck. The driver of the SUV, Charles IRETON, 21, of Newmarket was initially transported to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries, but succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, July 24, 2016
