(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On April 22, 2017 at approximately 5:14 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision on Hwy. 10 just south of Grey Rd. 9 in the Township of Southgate involving a 2012 Dodge Ram pick-up truck and a 2012 GMC Sierra pick-up truck, resulting in three people being taken to hospital, one of which was a pregnant woman.

Investigation revealed that both vehicles were travelling southbound on Hwy. 10. The Dodge truck had stopped, waiting for northbound traffic, in order to make a turn into a private laneway. While stopped, it was rear-ended by the GMC pick-up. Both vehicles sustained significant damage.

The lone driver of the Dodge, a 40 year old woman from the Township of Southgate, was transported to hospital with minor injuries and released.

The two occupants of the GMC, a 30 year old male driver and a 24 year old pregnant female passenger, both of Orangeville, were transported to hospital as a precaution. There were no life-threatening injuries reported.

The driver of the GMC was charged with Careless Driving.
