(HUNTSVILLE, ON) On Wednesday June 25, 2013 just before 2:30pm Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was advised of a serious motor vehicle collision on highway #60 near Grassmere Lake Road in Huntsville, On.
Initial investigation found that a Ford Escape with two occupants was traveling west bound and a Subaru was heading eastbound on Highway #60 struck head on, causing the Subaru to go into the ditch on the south side of the road. The two occupants of the Escape were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Subaru, a 66 year-old male from Huntsville was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The OPP Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit has attended to assist in the investigation. Highway #60 will be closed until it is complete.
