(Elgin County) – Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the Ontario Fire Marshalls Office continue to investigate a blaze that completely destroyed a house on Harper Street in Rodney, ON.
The fire occurred on July 28, 2013 around 5:12am when neighbours observed smoke billowing from the residence. West Elgin Fire battled the fire until it was extinguished at approximately 2pm.
No one was injured in the incident and the residence, which had been a rental property, had been vacant for the past several weeks.
Damages and losses are estimated at $200 000.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time, the investigation is continuing.
