(COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police along with the Collingwood Fire Department are presently at the scene of a fire on Fifth Street in Collingwood.
At approximately 5:45pm on the 1st of March 2014 the OPP and the Collingwood Fire Department were contacted to attend to a fire at a residence on Cedar Street near Fifth Street in the Town of Collingwood. Fire crews located a male party inside the residence who was transported to the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital where his death was confirmed.
The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office has been contacted to attend the scene as a cause for the fire has not been determined at this point. As well a post mortem will be conducted on the deceased party in the coming days and as such the investigation is ongoing.
