(Alliston, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and the Nottawasaga OPP have charged an Alliston man following a six week internet luring and child pornography investigation.
In September 2016, police from the Nottawasaga OPP Detachment received a complaint in regards to a male communicating with a female youth in a sexual manner via the internet. The OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit was contacted to assist with the investigation.
During the investigation, it was learned that the suspect utilized his position as an employee at the Stevenson Memorial Hospital to gain contact information about the victim.
On November 16, 2016 OPP members from the Nottawasaga Detachment, Child Sexual Exploitation Unit and the Technological Crime Unit executed two criminal code search warrants in Alliston Ontario. One search warrant was executed at the accused’s residence and the second search warrant was executed at the accused office located at Stevenson Memorial Hospital.
As a result of this investigation, police seized eleven computers and one external data storage device. The devices are pending further forensic analysis.
On November 16, 2016 police arrested Jared Connor NOLAN, age 34 years, of Alliston Ontario. He is charged with three counts of Internet Luring, one count of Transmitting Sexually Explicit Material to a Person under 18 Years of Age, one count of Distribution of Child Pornography and one count of Possession of Child Pornography.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing. He is schedule to appear today, November 17, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie Ontario.
The investigation is continuing.
