(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On May 18, 2018 at approximately 5:45 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to assist Thames Centre Fire and Middlesex-London EMS at what was initially reported to be a collision between and transport truck and a horse drawn buggy on Elgin Road, near Mossley Drive.
Upon arriving on scene, it was determined that the horse was spooked by a passing transport truck and the buggy entered the ditch causing it to roll.
The buggy was occupied by 10 (ten) people. All occupants were cleared medically. No one was transported or injured as a result of this event.
The transport truck driver did not stop. It is likely that they commercial vehicle operator did not notice the event.
Motorists are remained to use extra caution when traveling on country roads, especially when approaching horse drawn buggies and farm equipment
