(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is reminding all home owners to try and avoid blowing snow onto the roadway from their properties.
The snow being blown onto the roadway can cause a dangerous driving situation for the motoring public by limiting visibility for drivers.
These conditions can be especially dangerous when unsuspecting drivers have snow blown onto their windshield. Police have received reports from concerned drivers of motor vehicles advising that snow was directly blown onto their windshield resulting in zero visibility.
Due to the current weather and road conditions this could have potentially caused a serious or fatal collision.
“As you remove snow from your property, please make sure to aim the snow away from people, buildings, roadways, motor vehicles and pets. Any stones or ice ejected into the air has the potential to injure, damage windows or damage property,†comments Rob Scott, Operations Manager of the Norfolk County OPP Detachment.
