(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three males in relation to a break & enter and assault at an Orillia address on Saturday November 15, 2014.
At approximately 4:21 a.m. on November 15th, 2014, police were called to a Bay Street address in relation to an assault.
Officers attended the scene where they were advised that three males had entered the residence wearing balaclavas. The three males assaulted the tenant with a hammer before leaving the residence. The Orillia OPP Crime unit investigated the incident and have arrested the three males responsible.
Andrew BARKER, 29 years old, Niklas ERIKSSON, 23 years old and Adam JONES, 24 years old all from Orillia have been charged with the following criminal offences.
Assault with a Weapon
Mischief Under $5000
Forcible Entry
Disguise with Intent
Break and Enter with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence
The victim had minor injuries and declined to be transported to hospital. He was subsequently arrested and charged with drug related offences.
The four males have future court dates in Orillia.
Police believe the incident started after an altercation at a downtown licensed establishment.
