Home Invasion With Firearm – Suspect At Large

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a home entry with violence at a Windham Road 3, Windham, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Thursday, August 4, 2016 at approximately 6:13 p.m., police were called to the address after a trailer on the property was entered and the occupant assaulted.

Through the course of investigation, it was determined that the resident was inside the trailer when an unknown male entered between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., and became involved in a physical confrontation. During the altercation, the unknown male produced a firearm and demanded money. A quantity of currency was turned over to the suspect who then fled in an unknown direction.

As a result of the assault, the 25-year-old male sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6’0, 210lbs, goldish red coloured beard, wearing a grey hooded sweater with the hood pulled up.

The Norfolk County OPP Crime Unit is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
