Home Invasion Update – Three Charged

On December 21, 2014, the Guelph Police entered into a break and enter investigation at a Carden Street apartment. It is alleged that three males attempted to gain entry to assault the resident inside. During this altercation pellet guns were discharged striking the resident. The victim did require medical attention for his injuries. As a result, three responsible persons were identified and arrested on December 22, 2014 without incident.

A 31-year-old Guelph man has been charged with break and enter to commit indictable offence, use firearm in commission of indictable offence, discharge firearm intent to wound, cause bodily harm with intent – air pistol, assault cause bodily harm, assault with a weapon, careless use of firearm, weapons dangerous, breach recognizance, four counts of possession of firearm while prohibited.

A 29-year-old Guelph man has been charged with break and enter to commit indictable offence, use firearm in commission of indictable offence, discharge firearm intent to wound, cause bodily harm with intent – air pistol, assault cause bodily harm, assault with a weapon, careless use of firearm, weapons dangerous, breach probation and two counts of possession of firearm while prohibited.

A 20-year-old Guelph man has been charged with break and enter to commit indictable offence, use firearm in commission of indictable offence, discharge firearm intent to wound, cause bodily harm with intent – air pistol, assault cause bodily harm, assault with a weapon, careless use of firearm and weapons dangerous.

All three have been held in custody pending a bail hearing on December 23, 2014.

The investigation is ongoing.
