On December 22nd, 2014 at approximately 10:45 King Street East at Riverbank Drive was closed due to a motor vehicle collision. A large truck, travelling westbound on King Street East had an improperly secured boom-arm which stuck overhead wires. Several nearby businesses were without power for a number of hours. A 46 year old Kitchener male was charged with careless driving and power was eventually restored.
