Home Invader Beats Victim With Weapon – Friend Finds Victim On Floor

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment is investigating a robbery where the occupant of the residence was injured after being assaulted with a weapon by an intruder at a Second Line, Mississauga’s of the New Credit First Nation, Ontario address.

On Wednesday February 15, 2017 at 12:15 p.m., OPP, Six Nations Police Service and Haldimand County paramedics responded to Second Line for a robbery at a residence where it was reported that a male victim had been beaten and was found on the floor inside his residence. The male victim was found by a friend who had called police upon making the discovery.

OPP investigation, thus far, has determined that on Wednesday February 15, 2017 at approximately 12:15 p.m., an unknown male suspect entered the victim’s residence, confronted the victim and struck him several times with a weapon before taking a quantity of Canadian currency, a wallet containing personal identification, and a quantity of prescription medication.

The unknown male suspect was last seen running south bound, down the driveway of the residence and then entered the passenger side of a newer model silver Dodge Durango.

The suspect vehicle was last seen travelling east bound on Second Line.

The suspect is described as being a male, light coloured skin, approximately 6′ tall, with a thin build, wearing camouflage clothing. The suspect had his face covered at the time.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital by paramedics to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

OPP continue to investigate.
